    Somerset man accused of burglary, rape in Wayne County

    SOMERSET, Ky. ( FOX 56 ) — A Somerset man has been arrested concerning a Wayne County rape.

    Court documents allege that around 12:15 a.m. on May 3, 23-year-old Zachary Brown entered a home on the 100 block of Homestead Heights and raped a 13-year-old girl.

    According to the criminal complaint, the victim’s grandmother was able to stop Brown, who then dressed and fled the scene.

    Both the victim and her grandmother positively identified Brown as the man who entered their home that day, per the Wayne County Court.

    Brown was arrested by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department around 10:42 p.m. the following day.

    He was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center on second-degree rape and second-degree burglary charges. Brown is due to be arraigned on Monday.
