SOMERS, N.Y. - After a rash of bad weather, the sun came out and Somers got on the field again versus Arlington on Thursday, April 25.  A perfect blue sky didn’t keep the Admirals from bringing the storm to the high school, and they didn’t wait long to do it. Eric Santaella walked, stole second and third, Tristin Rivera walked and Griffin White knocked in the first two runs.

Unfortunately, Arlington was far from done.

The visitors added four more runs in the second and went on to an easy 15-0 victory.

Somers did threaten in the bottom of the first, though. John Robinson went opposite with a single to right, and Nick Conti and Andrew Kapica loaded the bases with a hit by pitch and a walk. But Logan Pulitano got Jake Hopper on strikes to end the inning.

Unsympathetic, Arlington went back at it. Nick Nugent singled up the middle, Chris Adorno bounced through the left side, and after Justin Peters walked, Santaella and Rivera singled for a 6-0 lead.

On the bright side, Rhys Carway did get White to bounce into a double play and retired Christian Anderson on strikes to end the inning. But momentum was not the result.

Somers went down in order in the bottom, while Arlington did not in the top of the third.  Liam Suozzo reached on an error, Nugent walked, and Santaella’s two out single knocked in run number seven.

A one out single by Patrick Bracelin did show signs of life in response, but the Admirals were quick to flatline the situation. A bouncer to short by Erik Gersfeld and 6-4-3 double play ended the inning. Arlington then answered with a seven run fourth and Somers went quietly in the fourth and fifth to end the game shortened loss.
