A graphic for Centre County Democrats’ Election Night Party featured a blue wave — and few realized just how prescient that would become Tuesday night. Democrats made historic election gains across much of Pennsylvania and the country. They’re now set to control the commonwealth’s “trifecta” — meaning Pennsylvania’s governorship, state House and state Senate — for the first time in 33 years. Nationally, the Dems also took control of both the U.S. House and Senate. By the end of Tuesday night, some even labeled it a “ blue tsunami .” “I think it might’ve even exceeded my expectations,” Gov. Josh Shapiro, who also easily won reelection, told CBS on Wednesday morning .
