HOUSTON — Three Harris County Sheriff's Office detention officers have been indicted for assault with bodily injury after an inmate suffered a severe head injury in 2022. John Ziesemer, 56, Ezihuo Osiminibeke, 36, and Jimmy Poole, 47, were relieved of duty pending the outcome of an Internal Affairs investigation, HCSO said. They are no longer working in the jail.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — An 18-year-old was taken to the hospital Friday after she was shot in the parking lot of Hastings High School, according to Houston police. Police said the teenage girl and at least three other people were sitting inside a car in the parking lot of the high school. Someone in the backseat was playing with a gun and at some point, the gun went off, hitting the 18-year-old who was in the driver's seat, police said.

BAYTOWN, Texas (TCD) -- A 41-year-old man will spend 55 years in prison after officials found his wife deceased in their home in 2020. On May 8, Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg announced Jason Armster’s sentencing for the shooting death of 36-year-old Charlene Grovell after a jury convicted him of murder. Armster will have to serve at least half his sentence before parole eligibility.
