Say hello to Mother's Day weekend! Much of Saturday should be dry with a few showers building in from the west late. Rain really increases Sunday and Monday with a few strong storms possible Sunday PM. Houston and areas west are under a 1/5 risk for severe storms Sunday. Damaging winds and hail will be the main threats but the risk is low for now. There's a bigger chance for flooding Sunday and Monday as models are indicating anywhere from 1 to 5" of rain possible. Be especially careful around the Brazos and Trinity Rivers where flooding continues from previous rain. At least temperatures will be more comfortable this weekend as you're hanging out with mom or enjoying an event around town. 25-year-old co-worker accused of shooting man to death in victim's driveway, Harris Co. sheriff says
According to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez, the suspect and the victim had a disagreement at work before about 13 shots were fired at 50-year-old Fidencio Romero right before he was about to start his shift.

Two masked men -- one with assault rifle -- seen on video robbing N. Harris County store
HOUSTON — Two masked suspects in ski masks, at least one armed with an assault rifle, were seen on video robbing a store in north Harris County. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office posted surveillance video to X on Friday, showing the robbery they said happened on April 20 at around 9 p.m. You see the two men inside the store on Aldine Westfield north of Hartwick.
