Glenwood police reports pair of warrant arrests
(Glenwood) -- Two Glenwood suspects were arrested on warrants Monday. The Glenwood Police Department says 35-year-old Amanda Elrod was arrested on two Mills County warrants. Shenandoah baseball returning a lot of experience
(Shenandoah) -- The Shenandoah baseball team is returning every player that started a game last year, five of which will be seniors this upcoming season. Staats to take over Shenandoah track & field program
(Shenandoah) -- Grant Staats will take over the Shenandoah track & field program in the 2024-25 school year. Staats has recently worked with the cross country program and served as an assistant on the track & field program. A Mount Ayr graduate, Staats replaces Ty Ratliff.
McQueen: low water levels led to pool season's cancellation
(Shenandoah) -- Shenandoah officials are defending the decision to keep the city's outdoor pool closed this summer. Following a recent Shenandoah Parks and Recreation Board of Directors meeting, city officials announced last week that the Wilson Aquatic Center won't open for the 2024 season. Shenandoah Mayor Roger McQueen tells KMA News the city's low water levels led to a consensus to keep the pool closed.
Motor Home Fire Near Shenandoah
(Shenandoah) The driver of a motor home that caught fire east of Shenandoah escaped without injury. According to their Facebook page, the Shenandoah Fire Department responded to the blaze at 4:35 p.m. in the area of Hickory, and 202nd Street. When the arrived, the camper was heavily engulfed. Crews knocked down the flames in short order. Firefighters applied foam to further suppress any hot spots from reigniting.
Van Meter, Red Oak, and Shenandoah Advance in 2A Regional Girl’s Golf
(Area) The Class 2A Regional Golf Tournaments wrapped up this afternoon: Van Meter, Red Oak, and Shenandoah advanced in the Class 2A Region 3A tourney at the Red Oak Country Club. Van Meter topped the field with a 370, Red Oak shot 401, and Shenandoah finished with a 402. Treynor (417), Underwood (432), and Clarinda (434) round out the team scores. The top six individuals advance. The Regional final will be held at the Leon Country Club.
