Severe Thunderstorms Carry High Winds and Hail to Portions of Southwest Iowa
(Area) A severe thunderstorm with high winds and hail swept through southwest Iowa on Sunday night. According to the National Weather Service storm reports, 1.50-to-1.75-inch hail fell in Page County at around 8:00 p.m. in Clarinda and Hepburn. High winds damaged trees five miles southeast of Hepburn, along with 1.75-inch hail. The Clarinda Airport reported a wind gust of 53 miles per hour, two miles southeast of Clarinda.
