Girls track & field: Morris 4x200 ‘beat the odds,’ heading to state
PRINCETON - Morris coach Ryan Battersby tried to sugarcoat it when he saw his team’s lane assignment for the 4x200 relay for Thursday’s Class 2A Princeton Sectional. He thought running in the first lane may prove difficult, but he didn’t want to relay his concern to his runners.
Girls track: Fulton runs away with title at 1A Bureau Valley Sectional
MANLIUS - Fulton junior Emery Wherry said she can’t explain it, but she’s made a huge leap forward during this track and field season. Boy, did it show Wednesday. Wherry had personal records in three events to qualify for the IHSA Class 1A state meet in all three out of the Bureau Valley Sectional.
Softball Game Recap: Wethersfield/Annawan Takes a Loss
Wethersfield/Annawan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 18-3 to the Mercer County Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Wethersfield/Annawan of the 13-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.
