Marginal Risk for Severe Storms Covers Raleigh, Greenville, Norfolk, Virginia Beach and the Delmarva Coast as a Cold Front Sweeps the Carolinas and Mid Atlantic With Gusty Winds
NORFOLK, VIRGINIA — The Storm Prediction Center has placed parts of the Carolinas and the Mid-Atlantic coast under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe thunderstorms on Friday, November 6. The outlook was issued late Thursday night and is valid from 7 a.m. EST Friday to 7 a.m. EST Saturday, November 7. The risk area stretches from central and eastern North Carolina north through southeast Virginia and onto the Delmarva Peninsula. That includes Raleigh, Greenville, New Bern, Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Dover. General thunderstorms are also expected along much of the East Coast, from Florida to Maine, as a strong cold front pushes offshore.
