For more than a decade, Capt. Chris Parker has been helping recreational boaters on the Chesapeake Bay get home, first as a hired captain and later a port manager of several TowBoatUS on-water towing ports in the Tidewater region. Wanting his own TowBoatUS on-water towing and assistance company, he journeyed east across the bay in 2019 to open TowBoatUS Crisfeld in Maryland. 2 'unexpected' deaths in Northumberland Sheriff's Office in May
Two members of Northumberland County’s police force were killed in late May, and it’s suspected that they both took their own lives. The most recent death was that of Taylor Hayden who just turned 20 years old in April. He was a communications officer for the Sheriff’s Office and had been on the job for less than two months. Hayden also served the Northumberland community as a volunteer for Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department located in Reedville.

UPDATE – A Maryland Army National Guard unmanned aircraft system lost contact with the unit causing the chute to automatically deploy before coming down in a wooded area just outside Patuxent River Naval Air Station restricted airspace at about 12:45 p.m. today. LEONARDTOWN, MD - St. Mary’s County Public Schools (SMCPS) Judy Center Early Learning Hubs and Food and Nutrition Services is pleased to announce its free summer meals program in partnership with the St. Mary’s County Library, the Department of Social Services, and a grant from the United States Department of Agriculture.
