Calvert indoor swimming pool to close for over 40 days
The summer of 2024 will be a time for Calvert County swimmers to get their pool fix outdoors. The Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center, which routinely closes every mid-August for maintenance, will have a 44-day period this summer when it is closed to the public. A St. Mary’s jury last week found Thomas Lavon Moreland, 21, of Lexington Park guilty of murder for his participation in the Hollywood carnival shooting two years ago that took the life of one 16-year-old and left another teenager suffering from two gunshot wounds. On 4/12/2024, TFC Piscopo-Bann conducted a traffic stop on Three Notch Road at St. Andrew’s Church Road, California, MD. Investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle, identified as Deon Caprice Brown, 55 of Crisfield, MD had an active warrant through the South Williamsport Police Department in Pennsylvania. Car collides head-on with school bus
Shortly before 9 a.m. on April 12, crews were dispatched to Chesapeake Ranch Estates in Lusby where a school bus had collided head-on with a car. A report posted by Capt. Richard Lacey of the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department stated there were passengers on the bus. Three people were assisted with one transported for evaluation at a local hospital.
