Federalsburg man arrested following pursuit
FEDERALSBURG, Md. – A Federalsburg man was arrested after police say a vehicle pursuit through Dorchester County ended in a crash. On Wednesday, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a motor vehicle on Ocean Gateway in the Trappe area for moving violations. Deputies soon discovered the vehicle registration was also suspended. The vehicle accelerated east in an attempt to elude police. The suspect continued into Dorchester County where they were joined by Deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.
Fishing event for visually impaired veterans held at Lexington park
LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Camp Hero, an area nonprofit, hosted a fishing event for veterans Tuesday, and it was about much more than just the sport. Fishing is a sport that requires a lot of patience, but it’s also a great way to get out in nature. That’s something veterans with eye and vision struggles had the chance to do at a fishing event in Jacobson Park hosted by Camp Hero in partnership with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Visual Impairment Services Team (VIST).

The sale will be held noon to 8 p.m. Friday, May 17 (members only, join online or at the event), 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18 (open to the public), and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 19 (bargain day), at the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds. In addition to books there will be DVDs, music CDs, board games and jigsaw puzzles for sale. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Calvert school board discusses proposed code of conduct changes
Student conduct has been a provocative issue regarding some Calvert public schools of late and the May 9 meeting of the school board reviewed the latest proposed policy changes.
