Theft reported at churches in Herndon area
Herndon, Pa. — Police are investigating two separate theft incidents from churches near Herndon in Northumberland County. The first reported theft was between March 31 and April 7 at Zion Church on Main Street in Herndon. Trp. Lucas Roshannon of state police at Stonington says someone broke into the church and took $550 cash made up of various bill denominations and change. The unknown suspect also took 300 church donation envelopes. In a separate incident, an unknown suspect broke into St. Paul's United Church of Christ on Urban Road in Jordan Township sometime around April 20. The suspect smashed the window of an interior door and took $50 in canned good donations and $20 cash, according to Trp. Adams. Anyone with information may contact PSP Stonington at 570 286-5601.

Shamokin Dam, Pa. — Police say they were called to the Shamokin Dam McDonald's after a man threatened to slit the throat of an employee.
