Two juveniles detained after burglary at Buster's Market on Scottsville Road
Wheatland, N.Y. — Police detained two juveniles, arresting one of them, after a burglary at a convenience store just outside the village of Scottsville early Thursday. Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a burglary report at Buster's Market on Scottsville Road and found the store's front door broken.
One dead after crash on Lake Ontario State Parkway in Greece
One person was killed in a crash on Lake Ontario State Parkway in Greece on Thursday morning, according to New York State Police. The crash occurred on the parkway's eastbound lanes near Manitou Beach Road around 10:30 a.m. It appeared that the car landed on its nose and was engulfed in flames. A stretch of the parkway's eastbound lanes have been closed as troopers investigate at the scene. Lake Shore firefighters were also assisting at the scene. Rochester, N.Y. — A man was sentenced Tuesday after admitting to the killing of an innocent bystander in the city last year. Teodoro Rivera Jr., 26, of Rochester, is set to serve 18 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to murder and weapon charges back in March.
Shon Todd gets 50 years to life for killing woman, burning home
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 50-year-old man who stabbed a woman to death at her home and then set the building on fire was sentenced to 50 years to life in prison. Shon Todd had been convicted by a jury of second-degree murder and second-degree arson in the death of Lysandra Bagley, 37. Rochester firefighters found her body, charred beyond recognition, when they responded to a house fire on Garson Avenue on May 21, 2023. It was determined that she died of multiple stab wounds before the fire.
