Scottsville man arrested after stolen car crash on Lake Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Scottsville man was arrested Thursday, after a stolen vehicle crashed on Lake Avenue in Rochester.

According to the Rochester Police Department, the stolen black Hyundai Elantra was speeding northbound in the wrong direction around 1:20 p.m. when the driver, trying to return to the correct lane, rear ended another car. A 36-year-old Greece man was hospitalized with what police said were not life-threatening injuries.

Police said the people in the stolen vehicle fled the scene on foot. A 20-year-old Scottsville man was caught and charged with vehicle and traffic violations, criminal possession of stolen property, and unauthorized use of a vehicle and leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
