Roselle Catholic Claims First Victory of 2024 In Preliminary Round of Union County Tournament
ROSELLE, NJ - Roselle Catholic’s Varsity Baseball Team came to play when it mattered most, defeating Rahway 12-3 in the Preliminary Round of the Union County Tournament on Wednesday. Freshman Armando Agusti led the Lions with three RBIs and two hits. Augusti, sophomore Lenny Peguero, senior Aidan Bell, and senior Bryce Beverly each had multiple hits in the contest. Peguero also led the way on the mound, pitching seven innings of two-run ball, with nine strikeouts. Following that throwing session, Sidwar was offered by Rutgers football. Sidwar, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound quarterback prospect at La Salle College (Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania), threw in front of Rutgers offensive coordinator Kirk Ciarrocca and running backs coach Damiere Shaw.
