SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – One of the top athletes in the Savannah area announced his college commitment on Wednesday.

Jeremiah James of Jenkins High School will start his college career at Hinds Community College, one of the top junior colleges in the nation for football.

“Not a lot of people get the opportunity that I’m getting,” Jeremiah said. “I worked my butt off for this opportunity since I was 6 playing football.”

For Jenkins, he played quarterback most of the year before switching to receiver mid-season. He also played safety for the Warriors which is where the coaches at Hinds believe he projects to be a power five safety.
