Man Arrested After Assault In Canyon Country

A man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the alleged assault of a victim in a Canyon Country parking lot in April.

Around 6:15 p.m. April 4, deputies responded to the 18000 block of Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country regarding an assault, said Deputy Kabrina Borbon, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station .

“Deputies learned that there was a verbal altercation between the victim and suspect in the parking lot. The suspect then physically assaulted the victim and the victim left,” Borbon said.

The victim sustained injuries, but declined medical attention, according to Borbon.

Ashot Simonyan, 41, from North Hollywood, was later located on Tuesday and arrested for assault, Borbon said.

Simonyan was booked at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. The suspect has been released on a citation to appear in court at a later date.
