SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/ KUSI) — A pedestrian was injured Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle in North Park, authorities said.

At that same time, police said a 32-year-old man driving a 2018 Toyota Camry northbound on 30th Street was approaching University Avenue facing a green light.

The pedestrian reportedly walked into the path of the vehicle and was struck. The department said that the collision caused the pedestrian to fall to the ground. The man was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Traffic Division responded and will be handling the investigation. DUI was not a factor, police said. Anyone with information related to the incident is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
