    Hawaii baseball routs UC San Diego

    Behind 19 hits in total, the University of Hawaii baseball team routed UC San Diego 14-6 on Saturday.

    After also beating the Tritons on Friday, the Rainbow Warriors improved to 24-15 overall and 8-9 in Big West Conference play, taking the series.

    Nine players racked up hits for the Rainbow Warriors, with seven getting at least two. Jake Tsukada had a game-high four, while Kyson Donahue and Austin Machado both homered.

    Randy Abshier got the start and win for Hawaii, lasting 6.1 innings, allowing four hits, three walks and a run with seven strikeouts. Connor Harrison got the save, recording the last seven outs.

    UC San Diego starter Matthew Dalquist took the loss for the Tritons (26-13, 13-7 Big West Conference). At the plate, Nick Costello went 3-for-5 with four RBI, while Michael Crossland and Delshaun Lanier hit home runs.

    The series finale between UH and UCSD takes place at 10 a.m. HST on Sunday.
