A chance of rain and gusty winds return to the forecast for much of Southern California this weekend with the arrival of an unseasonably cold storm.

A noticeable temperature drop and gusty winds arrive on Saturday ahead of the wet weather.

A wind advisory has been issued for parts of the San Bernardino mountains from noon Saturday through 8 p.m. Sunday, where winds will likely blow between 25 and 35 mph with gusts up to 65 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

“I do think we get rain on Sunday morning … whether it’s a drizzle, light rain or some brief moderate rain,” KTLA Meteorologist Henry DiCarlo said.

Rainfall amounts will likely range between a quarter of an inch to a tenth of an inch or less, according to the Weather Service .

“This is a very fast-moving system … Monday we get back to sunshine and warmer weather, and then all of next week looks very, very nice for us,” Henry said.

A high-pressure system developing next week could help that warming trend continue all the way into the next weekend.
