Greg McElroy Names 'Team To Beat' For Big 12 College Football Crown

Kyle Whittingham and the Utah Utes will be embarking on a new era of college football in the Big 12. The Utes are no stranger to adjusting to a new level of competition having joined the Pac 12 in 2011. Since the conference expanded to 12 teams, they made four Pac 12 title games and won two of them.

In their first season as members of the Big 12, Always College Football host Greg McElroy says they’re the team to beat for the Big 12 title.

“I think people are going to look at the program and see that the Big 12 is very much up in the air,” McElroy said on Tuesday’s episode of Always College Football. “But I think if you were to ask the public’s opinion on who the best program is right now in the Big 12, I think a lot of people are going to circle the Utah Utes.”

Last season’s Big 12 champion, the Texas Longhorns, are transitioning to a new conference of their own leaving the Big 12 title available for the taking.
