CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Cambria County man is accused of threatening to shoot and kill multiple people and causing the Cambria County Christian School to go on a soft lockdown.

Alberto Ortega Jr., 41, of Salix is facing multiple charges after he allegedly threatened to shoot several people including children, according to a criminal complaint. On April, 26 police were told by the victim that Ortega had been threatening her and that she was afraid for her and her children’s lives.

The victim told police that over the last week, Ortega had been threatening to shoot her, her children and her parents. Ortega allegedly told the victim that he “will put 3000 rounds into them” when threatening her parents. The victim told police that she did not know why he was making threats and that he “snapped,” according to the report.

In one alleged instance, Ortega threatened to shoot one of the victim’s juvenile daughters. Ortega allegedly said he wished he would have smashed the girl’s head off the bathtub and drowned her, according to the affidavit. The victim reported that Ortega attempted to retrieve multiple firearms from his gun safe.

During that alleged incident, the victim told Ortega that she was going to call the police to which Ortega allegedly responded that he would kill the police too. Police noted in the complaint that because of Ortega’s action the Cambria County Christian School was placed on a soft lockdown.

Ortega was arraigned on May 6 and is in the Cambria County Prison with bail set at 10% of $300,000. He is facing five misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats with the intent to terrorize another and five felony charges of endangering the welfare of a child.
