(CBS DETROIT) - A Macomb County deputy rescued several baby rabbits after they were allegedly thrown out of a car window Monday evening, officials said. At 7 p.m. on April 29, the deputy responded to the area of Potomac and Shoal drives in Macomb Township after a caller reported that he had seen someone throw a plastic bag containing baby rabbits out of a car window. Crowd drifts through city for second Marine City Art Drift event
The second Marine City Art Drift saw a crowd of people drifting through local businesses on April 27. The Marine City Art Drift is a citywide art exhibition showcasing artists and Marine City businesses. The event offers people the opportunity to explore local businesses as they partner with Michigan artists for the day. Attendees had a chance to wander from business to business to discover artists displaying their works for sale and offering live demonstrations.

Thunderbirds to headline Selfridge air show
HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The skies over Lake St. Clair will come alive this summer as the U.S. Air Force’s Thunderbirds flight team headlines the Open House and Air Show at Selfridge Air National Guard Base June 8-9. Making their first Michigan stop of 2024, the Thunderbirds are the Air Force’s premier demonstration flight team. Appearing at numerous air shows throughout the United States with their F-16s, the Thunderbirds make flyover appearances at the Super Bowl, Daytona 500 and Indianapolis 500. According to Senior Master Sgt. Craig Shipway, director of ground operations for the open house, the Thunderbirds will put on a more “comprehensive” performance than the F-22 Raptor demonstration that headlined the 2022 events.

Bag filled with 8 baby rabbits tossed from car window in Macomb County, police say
MACOMB COUNTY, MI – The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a male suspect who tossed a bag filled with baby rabbits out his car window. Deputies responded to Potomac Drive and Shoal Drive in Macomb Township at 7 p.m. on April 29 after receiving a report that the animals were discarded along the roadway.
Man charged in killing after victim struck by bullet through front door of apartment
KALAMAZOO, MI – A 19-year-old man is charged with open murder in the killing of a man who was shot through the front door of an apartment. Jamyre Cameron Thompson was arraigned Wednesday, May 1, in Kalamazoo District Court in the April 9 killing of Mark Wayne Jackson, 53, of New Baltimore in Macomb County.
