CAMBRIDGE — A Federalsburg man who was wanted by Cambridge Police for attempted murder and assault was arrested Wednesday after fleeing Talbot County Sheriff’s deputies. Upper Marlboro man charged after drug sale, overdose
On May 10, Calvert sheriff’s drug enforcement deputies observed an alleged drug transaction in the Breezy Point area of Chesapeake Beach. Shortly after that, the alleged purchaser overdosed and needed to be administered Narcan to survive. The alleged drug dealer, identified in court documents as Kevin Demetrius China, 35, of Upper Marlboro, was present when the Narcan was administered. His vehicle was searched by a K9 deputy. The search yielded numerous syringes, capsules, vials and an undetermined amount of suspected fentanyl. On May 11, China was charged with distribution of a narcotic, possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and reckless endangerment. China is being held without bond. A district court hearing on the charges he is facing is scheduled for June 10.

Activists urge Cambridge City Council to rename Malkus Bridge
CAMBRIDGE, Md – The Caucus of African American leaders is presenting to the Cambridge City Council Monday, hoping to convince them that the Malkus Bridge should be renamed. The Council does not have have the authority to change the name, as it’s a state funded bridge. Pair arrested for abuse of vulnerable adult in Talbot Co.
TRAPPE, Md. – Two people have been arrested following an abuse investigation that began last month in Trappe. On April 23rd, the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the abuse of a vulnerable adult at a group home on Krismor Court. Police say the home houses three special needs, non-verbal adults requiring around the clock care. The morning of April 23rd, a staff member had just started their shift for the day when they allegedly found one of the residents bound by his hands and feet inside his bedroom. It was determined that the resident had been tied up for more than six or more hours.

Police: Man stabbed, robbed in Cambridge
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – An investigation is underway after police say a man was stabbed during a robbery last week in Cambridge. Officers were called to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Cambridge during the afternoon hours of May 10th for a report of a victim with stab wounds. The victim told police that he had just left the Beverage Barn on Bayly Road on his bicycle when he was tackled off the bicycle by two men. The victim said he was stabbed in the upper left chest during the incident, and the suspects fled with the bike.
