ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Two boys and two girls were arrested by Rockford Police overnight Saturday after police said they stole a car, fled officers, and crashed into a house on Green Street.

According to police, officers with the department’s SCOPE Team tried to stop a stolen vehicle in the area of Preston and Concord around 1:07 a.m.

SCOPE stands for Specialized Community Oriented Police Enforcement, a police unit that focuses on very specific crimes, and often operates in unmarked squad cars.

Police said the vehicle accelerated away from officers and crashed into the house, at which point the occupants ran off.

A search of the neighborhood was conducted and a police K9 was brought in for assistance. Four suspects were caught.

A 15-year-old male was charged with Burglary to a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Aggravated Fleeing, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He was booked into Juvenile Detention.

A 14-year-old female was charged with Criminal Trespass to a Motor Vehicle and was released to a parent.
