Heat and humidity make a return trip to the East
After a few days of September weather, we are going to be backtracking into a summer-like air mass over the next two days. Highs on both Thursday and Friday will hit the low 90s, and with rising humidity, it will feel like we’re in the mid 90s. A south-southwesterly breeze will blow over the East at 6 to 12 mph under mostly sunny skies. A few isolated thunderstorms will be possible late Thursday afternoon. Storms will be more widespread Friday afternoon thanks to a frontal boundary approaching from the north, creating more instability over Eastern NC.
