Watch for showers and storms through Saturday
As of 1:30 PM Friday, the WITN First Alert Weather team canceled the First Alert Weather Day for the rest of the afternoon and evening on August 28. The severe threat has slowly diminished for Eastern NC. The marginal risk of storms that was in place earlier for the region is now back west and north of I-95 to Virginia. This is all thanks to the stabilization of the atmosphere and cloud cover from Thursday evening through this morning.

Comfortable conditions fade as weekend approaches
The comfortable weather we’ve seen the past two days will be back again to start Wednesday. Highs will be back in the mid to upper 80s with relatively low humidity. However, winds will shift through the day, starting out of the north to the southeast. This shift will bring back enough atmospheric moisture to turn the end of the week wet with rain.
WITN
Nice and dry days through Wednesday
For the rest of the day and into Wednesday, High pressure will build. We will experience partly to mostly sunny skies, low humidity, and seasonable highs in the mid-80s, and lows in the upper 60s and lower 70s. A stray coastal shower is possible, but that is more on the lower side.
