A Rice Lake man accused with three others of beating a man in a bar fight in June reached a plea deal in Barron County Circuit Court.

Tyler J. Ulrich, 25, was charged on June 13 with felony substantial battery-intend bodily harm as a party to a crime and misdemeanor resisting or obstructing an officer.

The felony charge was reduced to battery as a repeater but not as a party to a crime and the defendant pleaded guilty to the count as well as to resisting or obstructing an officer on Friday.

Ulrich’s $5,000 signature bond will continue and his sentencing hearing has been set for June 19.

    Also charged:

Francisco A. Mendiola, 30, of Rice Lake, had been charged on June 13 with felony aggravated battery and misdemeanor resisting or obstructing an officer, but the case was dismissed on a prosecutor’s motion.

Mendiola is facing two misdemeanors of battery and resisting or obstructing an officer in a case filed on Aug. 1. He had been free on a $500 cash bond, but a warrant was issued for his arrest on Sept. 22 after he failed to appear in court.

Izaiah T. Miles, 25, of Rice Lake was charged with felony substantial battery-intend bodily harm as a party to a crime and misdemeanor resisting or obstructing an officer. His arraignment is slated for June 28.

Tyler E. Lawrence, 26, was charged with three felonies — substantial battery-intend bodily harm as a party to a crime, attempted battery to a law enforcement officer and threat to a law enforcement officer — plus two misdemeanors of resisting or obstructing an officer and possession of THC. He pleaded guilty to substantial battery-intend bodily harm and attempted battery to a law enforcement officer and was sentenced to a 3½-year prison term.
