EDH Water Treatment Plant overhaul on the horizon

Rocklin incident report: Out of state felony warrant, suspicious vehicle in field and injury collision
The Rocklin Police Department publishes a weekly crime report, here are the published incidents from May 27-June 2. At 4:43 p.m., Rocklin dispatch received a call of a possible vehicle burglary in progress involving two suspects on the 5100 block of Meyers Street. Officers responded and located the suspect's vehicle, and conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During the investigation, one party was found to be in possession of suspected narcotics for sale. The subject was arrested and booked into the South Placer Jail. Evidence of a vehicle burglary or attempted burglary could not be established. The other subject was identified and released.
Placer County Fair opens next week with expanded hours
Back by popular demand, the 86th annual Placer County Fair is coming to @the Grounds in Roseville from June 20-23 and is expected to bring in more than 23,000 fairgoers. The beloved family-friendly event will feature carnival rides, 14 free concerts, various food offerings, including deep-fried goodies, exhibitions, livestock and auction, motorcycle races at the speedway and more.
Folsom to replace concrete slide landing zone at Econome Park
The city of Folsom is replacing the concrete slide at Econome Family Park on Parkway Drive. After an evaluation of the concrete slide, the Folsom Parks & Recreation Department requested a bid to enlarge the existing slide landing zone with poured-in-place rubber surface consistent with the surfacing already used at the park.

Auburn's Weston receives posthumous commendation from Placer County
The Placer County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday approved a posthumous commendation for Jackie Weston for her service and leadership in the Auburn Community. Weston served as the CEO of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce and became known as a “loud voice for supporting small businesses” when she became the interim executive director of the chamber during the pandemic in 2020. Weston passed away June 2 after being hospitalized for pneumonia.

Week five at Fast Fridays Motorcycle Speedway in Auburn was special, as racing from a throwback era was recognized with vintage and legends night. Auburn resident Neil Fergus, 94, was recognized. He has had a long relationship with motorcycles that dates to his first Harley-Davidson purchase at 16 years of age. Fergus has enjoyed close to 80 years on a motorcycle in numerous disciplines and pleasure riding and still rides daily if weather permits.

Shirley Rice, an operator of American River Cherry Company, said she and her husband Reg have allowed the general public into their 20-acre backyard to pick cherries and berries for about the last 10 years.
