Hillsborough Township creating a Community Equity and Diversity Profile
Hillsborough Township officials are taking a “deep dive” to create a Community Equity and Diversity Profile. Township Planning director David Kois and Samantha Ball, office administrator for the township’s Economic and Business Development and Sustainability Office presented the profile project at a Township Committee meeting on May 14.

Borough Steps in to Pay Outstanding Mortgage and Fix Elizabeth Barabash Manor
NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ – The Borough Council approved two resolutions regarding the Elizabeth Barabash Manor. The first approved resolution authorizes the borough to pay the outstanding defaulted mortgage on the building and the second is to approve the needed upgrade projects for the building. Councilwoman Nadine Geoffroy gave some background information regarding the facility which is a 100% affordable age restricted development consisting of 22 low-income rental units. NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ -- 16 North Plainfield High School students earned achievement award certificates for their high level of dedication to Interact and their participation and leadership in many projects. The Rotary Club of the Plainfields presented achievement awards to ten of the Interact Club members present at a breakfast in their honor, with six others unable to attend due to school and exam commitments. A Rare Showing of the Northern Lights Glowed in Montgomery Township's Night Sky
Princeton University Professor Robert Vanderbei viewed and photographed a rare occurrence in Montgomery Township's night sky on Saturday, May 11. As predicted by NASA and the U.S. National Weather Service station in Mount Holly, a geomagnetic storm caused the aurora borealis to became visible over much of the United States, at times as far south as Alabama and northern California. Montgomery Township residents who vigilantly watched the central New Jersey night skies overnight on May 10-11 were treated to a very rare viewing of the northern lights.
