ST. LOUIS — A three-city road trip that begins in early August for the Mets became a four-city trip on Wednesday.

After waiting for three hours in a rain delay, the Mets and Cardinals were postponed at Busch Stadium in the finale of their three-game series.

The makeup has been scheduled for a mutual day off on Monday Aug. 5.

The Mets are scheduled to complete a three-game series in Southern California against the Angels the previous day.

Instead of heading directly to Colorado to continue their road trip on Aug. 7, they will detour on the off day to St. Louis for a 4:15 p.m. start.

The Mets will then turn around and head back west to Denver for three games before finishing the road trip with three games in Seattle.

The Mets won both games this week against the Cardinals but finished 2-3 on the trip after getting swept three games by Tampa Bay.

The Mets have an off day Thursday and open a three-game series against the Braves on Friday at Citi Field.

Jose Quintana, who was scheduled to pitch Wednesday, will start the series opener against the Braves on two extra days of rest.

Christian Scott and Luis Severino are scheduled to start Saturday and Sunday, respectively, for the Mets.

Pete Alonso and Brandon Nimmo are among the Mets players scheduled to participate.

McNeil hosted a Top Golf event last season, but it was held in Eastern Long Island and many of his teammates opted against traveling to the event.

“It was tough to get some of the guys there, and I wanted something that appealed to more people,” McNeil said.

Money raised will go toward the Metropolitan PGA foundation and the Human Solidarity Project.

The event begins at 6:15 p.m. in the Piazza Club.

In their past 17 games the Mets have committed just five errors, tying them with the Twins for the fewest over that stretch. Over their past nine games the Mets have committed just two errors.
