The Queen Creek Town Council will be discussing  a tentative $723.8 million town budget for the upcoming 2024-25 fiscal year at Wednesday’s council meeting .

The proposed budget will be considered by the council for tentative approval tonight, with final approval scheduled for the Wednesday, May 15 Town Council meeting.

The town’s budget incorporates projected revenues and expenses to develop a financial plan for the fiscal year that begins July 1.  The tentative budget is available for review on the town’s website . By state law, all cities and towns must adopt an annual, balanced budget.

The tentative budget is a 17% decrease from the current fiscal year’s $867.1 million budget.

“Nearly 60% of the budget is for infrastructure investments, including $159.7 million to continue progress related to transportation improvements,” a press release from the town stated.

Once the council votes on a final budget on May 15, the council will adopt a property tax levy on Wednesday, June 5. The levy will be set at the rate needed to maintain the property tax freeze approved by the council in 2022. The new fiscal year begins on Monday, July 1.
