Zanesville Farmers Market Celebrates 50 Years of Connecting Local Vendors With the Community
The Zanesville Farmers Market is celebrating a major milestone: 50 years of bringing local vendors and the community together. The anniversary was marked with another busy Saturday morning at the market, where vendors welcomed longtime customers and new visitors. For five decades, the farmers market has provided a place for local vendors to sell their products while giving residents an opportunity to support businesses and producers close to home. Some vendors have been part of the market for more than 10 years, while others have connections that go back nearly to the market’s beginning.

Village Pizzeria & Kitchen expanding into Downtown Exchange. What else is new?
ZANESVILLE – Growth has happened fast for the Village Pizzeria & Kitchen in Frazeysburg, which hasn't even been open for a full year yet. The pizza shop, nicknamed "The Village," first moved to a larger 2,100-square-foot building at 266 W. Third St. in February, just months after opening last October. It also expanded its non-family staff to around 12 employees, from around one or two, and introduced numerous items onto its menu, like strombolis, wings, desserts and homemade comfort food specials every day. Now, it's in the middle of its next venture. It's expanding into a secondary, satellite location in Zanesville's Downtown Exchange, with an estimated opening date in early September. "We're very excited," co-owner Jalene Walton told the Times Recorder Aug. 11. "The opportunity presented itself, and that was too good to pass up for us to broaden our reach to our customers. With it being in a food hall, it wasn't so much a commitment as to opening a secondary location."
