A cloudy and warm Memorial Day leading to overnight thunderstorms in the Columbia Basin
A ridge of high pressure to our south will keep us warm and partly sunny for Memorial Day as we climb into the mid and low 80s for highs. Lows tonight while we remain cloudy will be in the mid and low 50s with a chance of late-night thunderstorm activity. This will last from 3-7 p.m. in the Grande Ronde Valley over La Grande then a chance of seeing thunderstorms after midnight over the Tri-Cities. From 1-6 a.m. a chance of thunderstorms will be present over the Columbia Basin all the way up to Spokane. These storms will have heavy rainfall, small hail and breezy conditions in these storms.

In 2022, “Publishing Prejudice” examined The Oregonian’s racist past under early publisher Henry Pittock and longtime editor Harvey Scott.
