Wicomico County Man Arrested for Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
SALISBURY, MD – Tyree Anthony Showell, 47, was taken into custody on Monday, May 22, 2023, following an investigation by the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Community Action Team (CAT). A search and seizure warrant was executed at Showell’s residence on the 1200 block of Pocahontas Avenue, revealing 16.72 grams of cocaine, digital scales, packaging material, and marijuana. At the time of his arrest, Showell was on parole for previous Controlled Dangerous Substances (CDS) related offenses. He is currently held at the Wicomico County Detention Center without bond. Salisbury Man Charged in Connection to School Burglary
SALISBURY, MD – Melvin Eugene Johnson, a 34-year-old Salisbury man, has been charged in connection with a burglary at West Salisbury Elementary School on July 31, 2022. On May 4, 2023, a search warrant was executed at Johnson’s residence where a .410 rifle was discovered in his bedroom. Johnson, a felon previously convicted of burglary, is prohibited from possessing firearms. He turned himself in on May 10, and was arrested on charges related to the burglary and possession of a firearm. Johnson is currently out on a $10,000 bond. Federal Grand Jury Returns Indictment Charging Salisbury Man With Violent Carjacking and Kidnapping
A federal grand jury returned an indictment this week charging 24-year-old Ralph Harmon of Salisbury with committing violent carjacking and kidnapping in Seaford. The indictment stems from those crimes committed on January 13th of this year, which caused serious bodily injury to the victim. Harmon is charged with carjacking and interstate kidnapping. If convicted, he faces a maximum life imprisonment for the kidnapping and 25-years in prison for the carjacking. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after taking into account the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

BERLIN – Maryland State Police arrested two men last week after uncovering a stolen firearm and suspected cocaine following a traffic stop in Worcester County. The operator of a Toyota Camry, Javon Brittingham, 31, of Salisbury, has been charged with possession of a stolen firearm, reported stolen from Georgia, and other gun-related charges. Brittingham was also charged with driving under the influence, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and other related traffic charges.
Wicomico Man Sentenced to 15 Years for Fentanyl Possession with Intent to Distribute
SALISBURY, Md. - A Wicomico County man has been sentenced to 15 years incarceration for fentanyl possession with intent to distribute. According to a press release from the Office of the State's Attorney for Wicomico County, Treyvon Walston, 25, was already on probation for Sexual Offense in the Second Degree when he was convicted in March. As such, Wicomico County Circuit Court Judge Karen M. Dean imposed another 18 months to run consecutively to Walston’s 15-year sentence for violation of probation.
