The Parkside Rams capture the 2023 2A State Title
WALDORF, MD — The Parkside Rams beat The Patuxent Panthers 3-1 to capture the MPSSAA 2A Baseball State Title. Pitcher Aiden Brinsfield was tasked to bring home the hardware and he delivered with a complete game, allowing just four hits and twelve punchouts. The Rams finish the season 20-4-1 after winning their first state title in program history.
Doubleheader win for FredNats
The FredNats opened up a two week home stand by sweeping both ends of a doubleheader against the Delmarva Shorebirds. In game one, which was a resumption from an April game that was suspended due to rain, the two clubs took the field in the bottom of the second inning with Delmarva ahead 2-1. Brad Lord held the score there, until the top of the fifth inning. Carter Young and Angel Tejada both singled, then Samuel Basallo got plunked to load the bases. Lord struck out a pair of batters to get two outs, but Erison Placencia singled into right field to plate Young and push Delmarva ahead 3-1.

MARSHALL, Texas - The Moravian University softball squad will face No. 1 Salisbury (Md.) University on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. CDT in the opening round of the 2023 NCAA Division III World Series. The tournament is being hosted by East Texas Baptist University and the Greyhounds will be making their fourth appearance in the Division III World Series and first since 2010.

The MPSSAA Class 2A Baseball State Championship trophy is on its way to Salisbury, as the Parkside Rams defeated Patuxent 3-1 on Saturday to win the state title. The Rams, who racked up a lot of hardware this year as Bayside Conference and Regional Champions, put a fitting bow on their season Saturday afternoon at the Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf, Md., separating themselves from the rest of the pack and finishing the year as the best baseball team in Class 2A.

Snow Hill alum picked as school's new head football coach
Snow Hill High School announced Friday that Raheem Hammond will take over as the school's new head football coach. A Snow Hill alum, Hammond was a quarterback and safety for the Eagles during his high school career. Hammond has recently served as an assistant coach for the Eagles in recent years, while also being the president of the Eastern Shore Spartans football program and assistant for the Delmarva Elite football program and an off-season training club.
