(Hancock) Firefighters were called to a house fire on Kimball Street in Hancock at around 3:15 a.m. The home is a total loss. Hancock, Avoca and Oakland Fire Departments responded to the scene. We’ll have more information when it becomes available.

Freeze Warning and Frost Advisories Issued for Southwest Iowa
(Area) A Freeze Warning is in effect from 1:00 to 8:00 a.m. Friday for Audubon, Cass, Harrison, Shelby, Pottawattamie and Montgomery counties. The National Weather Service says sub freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees is expected. Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
AHSTW Boys and Girls Track Win Cowboy Relays
(Sidney, IA) – The AHSTW Vikes and Lady Vikes were able to dominate at Sidney High School in the Sidney Cowboys/Cowgirls Relays. The Vikes were able to win with a total of 165 points while the Lady Vikes won with 178 points. In the girl’s results, Fremont Mills was just right behind with 177 points, just one point behind the Lady Vikes. Sidney finished with 73, Heartland Christian with 57, and Hamburg with 20. On the boy’s side, Glenwood finished with 149 points, Fremont-Mills 95, Sidney 89, Heartland Christian 39, and Hamburg 4.

Missouri Valley Boys and Girls Golf Teams Sweep Audubon
(Logan, IA) – At the Logan-Magnolia Missouri Valley Country Club, the Missouri Valley boy’s and girl’s golf teams were able to take wins over Audubon on Thursday evening. The boys won 162-169 while the girls were able to score 246 for the Lady Reds. The boy’s medalist was Missouri Valley’s Jackson Tennis with 37 while Evan White shot a 39 for the Big Reds.
