Northbound Exit 57 off-ramp to close after Fourth of July holiday for Inkom bridge work
INKOM — The Idaho Transportation Department is set to close the off-ramp at Interstate 15 Exit 57 for extensive ramp and roadway construction. A detour will be in place from Monday, July 6, through Wednesday, Aug. 5, according to a news release from ITD. Drivers traveling north will need to use Exit 47 in McCammon and take Old Highway 91 to North Inkom, West Jackson Creek and North Rapid Creek roads to reach Inkom. Drivers are advised to watch out for work crews and use caution as they drive through the work zone. This work is part of a project that began last year to replace I-15 bridges over Main Street, Rapid Creek Road and the Union Pacific Railroad. Crews replaced the southbound bridges last year, and this year they're focusing on the northbound bridges. Work is expected to be completed in October. Anyone interested in following the progress of the project can sign up for updates at itd.idaho.gov/project/inkom-corridor/.

I-15 nighttime traffic impacts start Thursday near Fort Hall Interchange
POCATELLO — The Idaho Transportation Department has announced nightly crossover traffic patterns will be in place on Interstate 15 near the Fort Hall Interchange starting Thursday. The crossover traffic patterns will create a work zone for crews to safely remove lead-based paint from the abandoned railroad bridge over I-15. Starting Thursday, motorists should expect traffic on I-15 to be reduced to one lane in each direction from south of the Fort Hall Interchange to north of the abandoned railroad bridge between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Speed limits will be reduced to 55 mph. On Saturday evening, both northbound and southbound I-15 traffic will use the northbound lanes of I-15. Crossover traffic patterns will not occur Sunday night. On Monday and Tuesday nights, both northbound and southbound I-15 traffic will use the northbound lanes of I-15. ITD plans to remove the abandoned railroad bridge in mid-July. All lead-based paint will be removed prior to demolition. Demolishing the bridge will provide the space needed to widen I-15 to three lanes in each direction. Construction to widen I-15 between Pocatello and Fort Hall is expected to be completed in 2027. ITD is urging motorists to drive the posted speed limit, be prepared
