Tuesday’s severe weather became and opportunity for a group of goats and a donkey on Wednesday to do a little bit of exploring.

Allegheny GoatScape is an organization that uses goats to get rid of unwanted vegetation and overgrowth in an eco-friendly way. The goats just eat the vegetation to get rid of it.

A group of goats and Diamond the donkey were in an enclosure the Bedford EnVision Center when strong winds from the storm opened part of the enclosure’s fence.

They escaped and went on a “brief adventure” because they were all safely returned to their enclosure.

“The friendly animals were eager to feel the love from staff and residents during their brief adventure!” The Housing Authority of the City of Pittsburgh said on X.

The goats are at the center to help get rid of invasive plants on the property.

GoatScape staff, along with the HACP, residents and police all helped the animals get back to their enclosure.
