Pittsburgh marathon a big winner for runners and city

The Dicks Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon is in the books for another year.

The winners are in for Sunday’s Pittsburgh Marathon.

American Andrew Bowman crossed the finish line first at the Boulevard of the Allies near Stanwix Street with a time of 2 hours 15 minutes and 52 seconds.

In the women's division, American Jane Bareikis finished first with a time of 2 hours 37 minutes, 37 seconds.

Wesley Kiptoo won the half marathon, Stephanie Bruce won the half marathon women's division.

Nearly 42,000 people participated in events surrounding the marathon this weekend with millions of dollars injected into the local economy.

Even organizer P3R estimates around 300,000 people were in town for the marathon this weekend.
