KDKA Radio’s Larry Richert, along with some famous friends have launched a new Pittsburgh-centric food truck with some food that will remind customers of a certain closed-down hot dog shop in Oakland.

Yinzer Dogs is now rolling around the Pittsburgh area, selling hog dogs reminiscent of The Original Hot Dog Shop or “O” in Oakland.

Kielbasa with peppers and onion on a Cellone’s roll, hand-cut French fries and Yinzer Bites (tiny pierogies dusted with magical seasoning) are all available to order.

Joining Larry on the Yinzer Dogs team is comedian Jim Krenn, chef Doug Mariani, “Growing Up Yinzer” author Dick Roberts and a certain Pitt QB and NFL Hall of Famer, Dan Marino.

Krenn, a longtime Pittsburgh radio host as well, said it’s the most fun he’s had working in his career.

“That’s what I love about the partnership,” said Krenn. “Everyone pitches in with their own expertise and everyone gets along.
We want to keep it going through quality, caring, loyalty and charity.”

Krenn, a Strip District native, hopes Yinzer Dogs restaurants pop up throughout the Pittsburgh area and become beloved joints where generations of ‘Burghers can go to enjoy a good meal and chew the fat with their nebby neighbors.

Larry and Jim are also part of the team behind Yinzer Greeting Cards and other Pittsburgh-centric products.
