Brown County Coffee adds 'Tea' to its name and what it offers
Brown County Coffee has added tea to both its name and its offerings, so the local company is now Brown County Coffee & Tea . Audrey Schultz began developing a line of tea to add to the coffee her family-owned business provides this winter with help from her daughter, Grace. During her winter break from Indiana University, Grace created the labels and graphics for the teas. "We work on the tea business together in the evenings and it is such a joy!" Audrey said in an email. She explained further that son, Noah, helps his father, Nick, with the coffee side of the business. It was while she was working at the local farmers' markets, selling Brown County Coffee, that she noticed people asking if they sold tea. "It was sad to turn people away," she said, recalling how she cherished drinking tea as a child with her grandmothers while playing cards. With older children, she decided she could take on another project: tea. While developing the teas people can purchase at the Bloomington Winter Farmers' Market as well as at some area cafes and restaurants, the Schultzes added a tea room in the company's coffee roasting facility in Gnawbone.
