Weekly Safety Report: Sentencing and House Fire Impact Sullivan County, Indiana
Two incidents occurred in Sullivan County, Indiana this week. In the first incident, Matthew T. Earle was sentenced to 6 years in prison for a fatal shooting of a Shelburn teen in 2021. He pleaded guilty to criminal recklessness. The second incident involved a late-night blaze that destroyed a home on W Sylvandell St. The Sullivan City Fire Department responded and successfully controlled the fire, but the house trailer was deemed a total loss. No occupants were present during the incident. Assistance was provided by the Sullivan City Police Department and the Sullivan County Sheriff's Department.
