Jesse Rodriguez is coming into his own at 24 and will look to prove he is the real deal when he challenges Juan Francisco Estrada for the WBC super flyweight title on June 29. The fight and undercard action airs on DAZN.
Rodriguez won the WBC super flyweight title in 2022. He opted to move to the 112-pound division soon after, beating Cristian Gonzalez for the WBO flyweight belt. “Bam” secured a spot on the pound-for-pound list when he beat Sunny Edwards for IBF gold.
Now, Rodriguez returns to the 115-pound division to face a warrior in Estrada. The Top 25 Under 25 fighter didn’t want to make an easy transition back up in weight, instead opting to attempt to win back the title he never lost.
“We're not here to take any tune-up fights,” Rodriguez said via Boxing Scene . “I'm here to fight the best every fight for the rest of my career. I take every fight seriously as if it's a title fight.”

Estrada has competed professionally since 2008, eight years after Rodriguez was born. The two-division champion went 2-1 against Roman Gonzalez in an epic trilogy, the last fight being in December 2022. While that was the last time he fought, “El Gallo” doesn’t back down from any challenge.
