County K closure
County Road K in the town of Prentice will be closed for repairs of the railroad crossing, approximately 100 feet north of the road, starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday, June 5, according to a press release from the Price County Highway Department. The work is expected to be completed on Wednesday and there will be no signed detour. Motorists are urged to allow extra time for the commute.
Butternut celebrates class of 2024
Butternut High School celebrated the graduation of 14 seniors at a May 25 commencement. The annual Czech-Slovak Festival, one of the biggest regional events of the summer, will be held in Phillips on June 14-15. Chequamegon High School senior Autumn Michalski concluded her stellar high school running career with three medals at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 3 State Track and Field Championships on May 31 and June 1 at Veterans Memorial Stadium Complex in La Crosse.
