PHILLIPS — The city of Phillips honored five members of the Phillips Fire Department for 30 or more years of service in a ceremony on April 18. Forward Promotes Three New Officers
Austin Travis has been promoted to Assistant Vice President Commercial Loan Officer at Forward. This is in recognition of his growing involvement in the Park Falls area and increased outreach to current and prospective business customers. Travis will continue to collaborate with the team in providing the best solutions to address the needs of businesses in Park Falls and the surrounding areas. Mauricio Jamie has been promoted to Assistant Vice President / Retail Manager at Forward. A well-known Lac Courte Oreilles traditional dancer and LCO Badgers drum group member died Friday April 26 as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle vs. car crash in the town of Winter on April 21. New home construction increases
The Wisconsin Builders Association is reporting single-family construction has increased 36% in the first quarter of 2024. Price County has a 40% increase with 14 new home starts from January through March which compares to 10 new starts for the same period in 2023, according to an April 29 press release. Butternut receives funding for fabrication laboratory
The Butternut School District has received a $22,000 grant to add a laboratory. The grant, from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation, will fund a fabrication lab, or fab lab. “Fab labs provide students throughout Wisconsin with access to high-tech equipment for hands-on experience and training necessary to prepare them for the jobs of the future,” said Gov.
