Philadelphia 76ers Fans Call Game 5 A Win-Win For Hilarious Reason

For many, being down 3-1 in a best-of-seven NBA Playoff series is not ideal.

That’s the case for the Philadelphia 76ers tonight, as they take on the New York Knicks in Game 5 at Madison Square Garden facing elimination.

Sixers fans, on the other hand, view tonight's game as a situation that has a win-win outcome.

If Philly wins tonight, they head back to the Wells Fargo Center for a chance to push it to six games. If they lose, it could mark the end of Tobias Harris' tenure with the Sixers - something nearly all Philly fans apparently love the idea of.

"(It) should be a holiday," another Sixers fan added.

Harris and the 76ers agreed to a 5-year, $180M contract back in July of 2019. To say it's been a rollercoaster of a ride since that date would be an understatement.

He's struggled mightily in the 2024 NBA playoffs, averaging less than nine points a game and shooting less than 40 percent from the field (25% from three).

He was reportedly chosen over former Sixer and superstar Jimmy Butler back in 2018, who has experienced great success since departing from the City of Brotherly Love.

It appears that, like many Sixers fans, Butler also disagreed with the team's choice to sign Harris, leaving NBA fans with a memorable quote after he eliminated Philadelphia in the playoffs two years ago.

It's not Harris's fault that the Sixers paid him. It's also not Sixers fans' fault for being upset at a number three option who is making nearly $40M per year and is struggling to score when the lights are brightest.

Tobias Harris, Joel Embiid, and the Sixers take on Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and the Knicks tonight as New York holds a 3-1 series lead. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
