Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid on Sunday couldn’t escape the ruthless chants from New York Knicks fans even in his own home arena.

The Knicks won 97-92 against the 76ers in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round series at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pa. The result left the Sixers one game away from elimination.

There was a huge contingent of Knicks fans in attendance at the game. The cheers from the New York faithful were so evident during the contest that Embiid expressed his disappointment with his home fans after the loss .

After the Knicks’ victory, a handful of the visiting fans gathered in the lobby to chant two words in unison.

“F–k Embiid! F–k Embiid!” the visiting fans chanted repeatedly.

Embiid has turned into public enemy No. 1 for Knicks fans throughout the series. The 76ers big man has been involved in several controversial plays, including another one during Game 4 ( video here ).

Knicks fans haven’t been the only ones willing to lambast Embiid either. Even a former Knicks legend has recently called out the 76ers star for his extracurricular incidents on the court throughout the series.

Embiid finished with 27 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. But the reigning MVP struggled from the field, shooting just 7/19 while committing 4 turnovers.

Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson was the best player on the floor in Game 4. He erupted for 47 points on 18/34 shooting. The Villanova product also tallied 10 assists and 4 rebounds to help his team take a 3-1 series lead over the 76ers.
