Philadelphia Police have announced the arrest of a man following a fatal hit-and-run and stabbing that occurred in South Philadelphia last week.

20-year-old Yel Win was arrested for his role in the fatal hit-and-run and stabbing death of 22-year-old Mung Sang that occurred on April 8 at 7:40 p.m. on 1600 S Front Steet.

3rd District police were called to the area after they received a report of a person screaming. When they arrived, police located Mung Sang trapped under a white Kia GT Sedan, and a large laceration on his neck, with a bloody knife on the ground.

Sang was pronounced dead at 7:47 p.m.

The investigation showed that Sang had gotten into an argument with Win when the argument turned physical and the Sang was stabbed and knocked to the ground.

Win then struck Sang with his own car before he got out of the car and fled in his own dark-colored car.

Police reviewed surveillance footage and tips and identified 20-year-old Yel Win as the suspect.

Win later turned himself into Philadadelphia Police on April 18.

The District Attorney’s Office has charged Win with murder, robbery, possession of an instrument of crime (PIC), tampering with evidence, and abuse of corpse.
